Former Utopia x Michael L. Clamp = The Philanthropists Split 7" / Digital Release ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Damnably are already well known as an East London music promoter, having put on gigs by Chris Brokaw, Shonen Knife, David Grubbs, Thee More Shallows, and many more. This is the debut release on the Damnably label. It comes in the form of a split 7” EP, featuring Former Utopia (George Gargan), Michael L. Clamp (of Lazarus Clamp), and The Philanthropists (George and Michael reunited for the first time in 6 years). The idea for the record came about thanks to Dave Dixie of Sorted records, an avid collector of vinyl 78s, who suggested that it would be fun to do updated versions of old 78 recordings. “And so we did” says Former Utopia’s George Gargan,“and then just after that, I caught Micky messing around with a pretty bit of guitar riffery and stuck the story of our friendship on top”. There are 250 numbered, limited edition copies of this 3 song, vinyl 7"' and each come with a CD featuring further two bonus tracks. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- www.damnably.com www.formerutopia.com www.lazarusclamp.co.uk
